5 reasons to like Sushi Suma

Sushi Suma is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney and if I were to sum the experience in 5 words it would be: fresh, cheap, generous, delicious and addictive!

Located on Cleveland St in Surry Hills, this restaurant has been around for years and continues to be very popular. There are no reservations so if you don’t want to wait, I recommend coming early since this place is always busy.  Even though it’s busy, there’s a very laidback casual atmosphere that you will enjoy.

Fresh: No doubt the food & sashimi is fresh. Enough said.

Cheap: I would say this is one of the cheapest Japanese restaurants in Sydney if not the cheapest! If you find a cheaper Japanese restaurant with better food, do let me know :).

Generous: Most Japanese sushi restaurants serve small portions. Not this place, you will have plenty of sushi to eat and easily be stuffed.

Delicious: For the price you pay its definitely value for money. It’s not often you get to have beautiful food for a fraction of the price. You even get complimentary dishes before you order.

Addictive: I’m a big fan of sashimi and I’m sure most of you are (given the increasing number of Japanese restaurants in Sydney recently). The above reasons have justified my addiction for Sushi Suma!

Overall it’s a great dining experience that will leave a lasting impression on your taste buds. What about the service? It depends how picky you want to be. I’m pretty easy going so it didn’t bother me but if you must know it’s average and typical of busy restaurants. I guess it’s not a five star restaurant after all.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10

Price: $
