Is Chef’s Gallery Overrated?

After reading many food blogs and reviews about how good this place is, I had to try it to see if the rumours are all true. So what’s the truth? I’m sorry to say but YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH :) okay here it is. Don’t get me wrong the look of this restaurant is very appealing and intriguing. The big letters at the front spelling out Chef’s Gallery is really unique and the interior design is quite funky and spacious. You can also watch the Chef’s showing off their skills through the glass kitchen, which is always a good experience when you are dining.

So what about their food? The truth is it’s quite average in my eyes. I’m a noodle lover, and when it comes to handmade noodles it should taste like it’s handmade!  Unfortunately for me I was a little disappointed, the noodles were still hard and was not cooked properly. Even if it was cooked properly the soup didn’t taste nice so it wouldn’t have made a difference. The only nice dish was the wontons, all the other dishes I ordered was also average. It just didn’t taste authentic.

If you want real Chinese food, then you should check out Taste of Shanghai. I reviewed this place back in February and thought it was very good.

Overall it was an average experience and I think Chef’s Gallery is definitely overrated. The food really let them down here otherwise I would have rated them higher. Chef’s Gallery is getting too much attention then it actually deserves!
